About David’s Work

David’s patrons enable him to be released part-time to exercise a national ministry of Wesleyan evangelical leadership. Central to the work is the vision he has established with and through Methodist Evangelicals Together (MET) of Rekindling the Wesleyan Flame: Making the Lord Jesus known through Rediscovering the Wesleyan Vision, Renewing the Wesleyan Mission and Releasing the Rising Generation of Wesleyan Leaders. There are immediate steps to take in each of these areas: continuing to work with MET on the plans for a major conference for rediscovering the Wesleyan vision and working with emerging younger leaders to release a whole new generation of Wesleys – young men and women on fire with the love of God, engaging in mission in the world.

John Wesley himself summarised the heart of the Wesleyan vision and mission as being ‘to reform the nation and in particular the church, to spread scriptural holiness over the land’. The implications of this in our day and age are almost endless, reaching every aspect of life, both within the church and within wider society. As the available resources grow, so can these aspects of David’s ministry, playing his part in rediscovering the Wesleyan vision, renewing the Wesleyan mission and releasing the rising generation, praying for a rekindling of the Wesleyan flame to make Jesus known again.
